What Is L-Tyrosine?
L-Tyrosine is a nonessential amino acid that is a precursor to dopamine which counters stress-levels, which is good for hard training athletes as it reduces stress and fatigue.
L-Tyrosine is found naturally in red meat, wheat, oats and fish.
L-Tyrosine is also a precursor to the thyroid hormones thyroxine and triiodothyronine.
What Does L-Tyrosine Do?
L-Tyrosine has two main effects - because it increases dopamine it is useful to combat fatigue and stress levels.
L-Tyrosines main use in supplements is in fat loss supplements - this is because l-tyrosine affects thyroxin (thyroid hormones) this can have a beneficial effect on your base metabolic rate - meaning you can burn more calories all day long!
L-Tyrosine - Directions For Use
L-Tyrosine when taken on its own should be taken in dosages of no more than 1g at a time, and no more than 2g per day. That said l-tyrosine is mainly found in fat loss supplements, and in doses of up to 300mg per capsule as a rule (some companies have much less per capsule).

L Tyrosine side effects can include overstimulation, restlessness, anxiety, and insomnia. Heart palpitations or arrhythmias are potential side effects that occur from high doses of tyrosine.
