I think the word for this is workmanlike - it does the job really well and I've been using it for years but it tastes damned plain and mixes a bit crappy.
I've tried a few other gainers and all in ones including sci mx omni hardcore and the nutrisport gainer and I have found the METRx one is the best in terms of real results - less fat gain and no 'iffy' belly pains that I have had from other products.
I take the Size Up with the METRx Whey (Supreme Whey) because they both have the same amino acid breakdown and taste pretty similar (ie. a bit naff!) but don't upset my belly.
Great product, could do with a taste upgrade but not at the expense of how well it works.
